About the Author
Rebecca Handler’s debut novel, Edie Richter is Not Alone, was published by Unnamed Press in March 2021, received a Kirkus Starred Review, and was longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize.
Rebecca first conceived the idea for her second novel, In the Round, while undergoing treatment for breast cancer. During long hours at the UCSF infusion center, often in a semi-hallucinatory state, the story began to take shape. In the Round will be published by McSweeney’s in November 2026.
Her short stories have been published and awarded in several anthologies. Rebecca’s blog, One Woman Party, covers everything from the taste of chemotherapy, to cold water swimming, to her years living in remote Western Australia.
Rebecca has been awarded two MacDowell fellowships and is currently at work on a third novel. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and, when they’re not off pursuing their own adventures, their two daughters.
